Set high on the Western slopes of the Piketberg mountains, this project explores how buildings can quietly respond to a natural setting. Spaces are intentionally modest and inward, using texture, warmth and restraint to create a sense of shelter. Views are revealed gradually through carefully considered openings, allowing the landscape to be experienced in moments rather than all at once.
