Die Handelshuis is a new build that takes its cues from the simple, familiar language of Cape farm buildings. The architecture is intentionally straightforward, with whitewashed masonry walls and generous arched openings that feel at home in the surrounding landscape. Deep spaces provide shade and create an easy flow between indoors and out, while well-proportioned openings bring in natural light and frame views of the gardens and farmland beyond. Rather than relying on decoration, the building is shaped by proportion, material honesty, and restraint, resulting in a timeless structure that feels grounded, welcoming, and closely connected to its setting.
